LaseMD Ultra Laser – NEW!

LaseMD Ultra is an advanced non-ablative fractional laser used for skin resurfacing and rejuvenation. It uses a 1927 nm Thulium laser to create thousands of microscopic treatment zones just below the skin’s surface. These tiny micro-channels trigger your skin’s natural healing response, promoting collagen and elastin production and revealing smoother, brighter, healthier skin — without removing the top layer of skin.

Key Features

  • Non-ablative → doesn’t strip or damage the outer skin layer.
  • Fractional → targets only a fraction of the skin at once for faster healing.
  • Customizable intensity →  based on your goals and skin type.
  • Common treatment areas include: the face, neck, chest/décolletage, hands, arms, and shoulders.

What it Treats

LaseMD Ultra can address a range of skin concerns, such as:

  • Hyperpigmentation, sun spots, age spots, freckles & melasma.
  • Uneven texture and tone.
  • Fine lines and early wrinkles.
  • Sun damage & dull skin.
  • Large pores & acne scarring.
  • Actinic keratosis (pre-cancerous lesions) in some cases.

What to Expect During Treatment

  • Preparation: Clean skin + topical numbing cream for about 15 minutes.
  • Procedure Time: ~10–30 minutes depending on the area.
  • Many describe the sensation as warm tingling or mild prickling.
  • Minimal downtime: Most people return to normal activities immediately. After treatment, your skin might look slightly red, warm, or flushed — similar to a light sunburn — which typically fades quickly.

Recovery And Results

  • Mild redness lasts ~1–2 days.
  • Skin may feel dry with a sandpaper texture as it exfoliates over 5–7 days.
  • Results begin within a week, with ongoing improvement as collagen develops.
  • A series of 3–6 treatments spaced weeks apart is often recommended for optimal results.
  • Many people maintain results with occasional maintenance sessions and good skincare.

Morpheus 8 Microneedling with RF

Morpheus8 is a new subdermal adipose remodeling device (SARD) that fractionally remodels and contours the face and body. Penetrating deep into the skin and fat, this morphs the aging face of body into a more desired smooth and sleek appearance, for all skin tones. Morpheus8 has the ability to penetrate deeper into the skin than any other microneedling device, going as deep as 4mm. Patient comfort is a major advantage of this device because of the sharper needles and tiny punctures it causes in the skin without tugging or pulling. M8 can be used for, but is not limited to treating wrinkles, acne scars, stretch marks surgical scars and more.

FAQs

WHAT IS MORPHEUS8?
MORPHEUS8 is a fractional skin treatment that stimulates collagen production of the underlying layers of the dermis. By targeting the deeper layers of the skin, the building blocks will reorganize themselves in a natural anti-aging process.

WHAT AREAS CAN BE TREATED?
Morpheus8 can be used on any areas that can benefit from sub-dermal renewal. The most commonly treated areas include the lower face and neck. Areas of the face and body that exhibit wrinkles, discoloration or acne scarring are suitable for treatment.

HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL I NEED?
Depending on your Morpheus8 treatment regime you can expect to have between 1-3 sessions.

HOW QUICKLY WILL I SEE RESULTS?
Visible results can be seen within a few days, but typically after three weeks the most noticeable results appear. Improvements continue up to three months after treatment.

WHAT IS THE BENEFIT OF FRACTIONATED ENERGY?
Fractionated RF energy is a scientifically proven method to reduce wrinkles and rebuild collagen and fat. It is minimally invasive, using a matrix of micro pins to renew deeper layers of the skin with almost no patient downtime.

CAN ANYONE USE MORPHEUS8?
The benefit of Morpheus8’s color blind technology is that it can be used on all skin types. The unique properties allow even darker tones to be treated.

WHAT IS THE BENEFIT OF RF ENERGY?
RF energy heats the deep layers of the skin in a controlled way to revitalize the collagen. The treatment will improve skin complexion and texture for a more radiant and youthful appearance.

CAN THIS BE USED IN COMBINATION WITH OTHER TREATMENTS?
Yes, Morpheus8 can be used in the same treatment session, or a few days after other treatments.

WHEN CAN I PUT MAKE-UP ON AFTER TREATMENT?
Since patient downtime is minimal, makeup can be applied 1 to 2 days after the treatment. Patients should expect to see micro lesions a few days after treatment and slight redness for up to 1 week depending on treatment parameters.

WHAT KIND OF POST PROCEDURE CARE IS REQUIRED?
Patients should moisturize the treatment area and avoid direct sun exposure. It is also recommended that patients use a good, broad spectrum sunscreen every day. In addition to reducing their future risk of skin cancer, sunscreens also reduce wrinkles and slow the aging process.

Before and After

Q-Switched Laser

The Q-switched laser is a 532nm Nd:YAG laser that utilizes nanosecond bursts of energy to specifically target pigmented lesions. It effectively eradicates lentigines or “brown spots” on the face, chest, and hands in 1-3 treatments.

FAQs

How do I schedule this laser?

  • Schedule a consultation with one of our providers to see if this laser is appropriate for you.
  • A dedicated laser visit will be scheduled with Dr. Chung or Dr. Patrone.
  • This laser is not scheduled during the summer months June-Sept due to sun exposure which cause increased risk of burn from the laser and post-treatment hyperpigmentation (darkening of the treated areas).

How do I prepare?

  • Avoid prolonged sun exposure or tanning at least 6 weeks prior to the procedure. If your skin is tanner than usual, it can increase the risk of a burn from the laser.
  • Come to your appointment with a clean face: no makeup or lotion.
  • Avoid wearing jewelry – the laser can reflect off shiny surfaces.
  • Schedule during a week where you don’t have special events or planned sun exposure such as a wedding, birthday dinner, sunny vacation or outdoor soccer game.

What can I expect during my visit?

  • Eye protection will be applied. Dr. Chung or Dr. Patrone will treat each brown spot with the laser, customizing the settings to your skin type and lesion size, thickness, and pigment density. The laser will feel like a rubber band snapping against your skin each time it pulses.
  • The procedure takes about 10-15 minutes. Most patients do not require topical numbing, but you can request numbing in advance, which takes 15-20 minutes.
  • After your treatment, we will apply Aquaphor or Vaseline to the treated areas, which will be temporarily red like chicken pox.

What is the healing time?

  • The first day all the treated spots may appear red, swollen, and slightly scabby, like chicken pox. The redness will subside in 1-2 days and thin dark scabs will form on the treated spots. The scabs will flake off in 5-10 days.
  • Most of the treated spots will disappear. Some may appear pink for up to several week. Stubborn spots may still have some pigment remaining and will require another treatment.

How should I care for my skin following the procedure?

  • Wash twice a daily with a gentle fragrance-free facial cleanser just using your hands (no washcloth or cleansing brush). Avoid any cleanser with exfoliating ingredients. Do not scrub the skin. Pat dry gently without rubbing.
  • Next, apply a thin layer of Aquaphor or petroleum jelly to all the treated spots.
  • If desired, a sparing amount of concealer or makeup can be applied after day 3.
  • Apply a mineral-based sunscreen every day.
  • Avoid sun exposure, especially in the first few weeks after your laser, due to risk of increased pigmentation in the treated areas. Moving forward, continue to always protect your skin from the sun to prevent new brown spots from forming.

How many treatments will I need?

  • Depending on the number of spots and pigment density of each spot, patients will need an average of 1-3 treatments, spaced 4-6 weeks apart.

What are the risks or potential adverse effects of this laser?

  • There is a risk of burning the skin or causing increased hyperpigmentation to the treated areas if proper settings are not used. If proper eye protection is not used, there is a risk of the laser adversely affecting your vision. Therefore, we take every precaution to protect your skin and your eyes. Caring for your skin properly after the procedure is also essential. Lasers are powerful tools that should only be used by licensed clinicians. In our practice, only board-certified dermatologists operate the Q-switched laser. For certain skin types and lesions, we may do a complementary test spot prior to treating the entire face.

The most common locations include the forehead, between the brows “11 lines”, and crows feet. It can also be used to enhance the lips, prevent a downturned smile, reshape the jawline, and relieve jaw tension. Medical indications include hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating). We offer several brands of botulinum toxin to fit your needs.

Soft tissue augmentation (Fillers)

Restylane and Revanesse
Hyaluronic acid fillers can be used to restore structure and volume loss to the face due to either aging or weight loss. Special care is taken to select the appropriate type of filler for desired effect. Fillers carry potential risks of infection or blockage of blood vessels. These procedures are performed only by Dr. Patrone.
